Plasma Surgical System Ophthalmic

The low-temperature plasma surgical system is designed for the treatment of ocular surface diseases and ophthalmic tumors. Its micro-resection technology, driven by kinetic energy, generates high-density plasma around the probe electrodes.

Unlike traditional electrosurgery, where tissues are cut by heat, the plasma probe works through molecular disintegration at low temperatures. This ensures minimal tissue trauma, precise ablation, and reduced risk of recurrence.

Between the electrodes of a bipolar or multipolar probe, a thin (50-100 µm) plasma layer with an energy of 3-5 eV forms in saline solution. This energy breaks molecular bonds without direct electrical current, guaranteeing minimal impact on surrounding healthy tissue and controlled ablation depth.

The Low Temperature Plasma technology keeps the surgical site at just 25-28°C during resection and hemostasis (for comparison, conventional electrocautery can reach 110°C). This significantly lowers the risk of thermal damage, preserving healthy tissue.

Clinical Benefits:

Safe treatment of ocular surface diseases and tumors – ablation depth is precisely controlled (50-100 µm).

Significant reduction in recurrence risk – the probe removes and inactivates even microscopic residual pathological tissue.

Minimal damage to healthy tissue thanks to low-temperature action and precise ablation.

Shorter operating time – efficient bleeding control provides a clear surgical field and almost bloodless intervention.

No facial nerve irritation – patented technology prevents eyelid tremor and other unwanted reactions.

The next-generation intelligent PLA405 probe integrates irrigation, aspiration, resection, coagulation, ablation, and hemostasis in a single instrument, streamlining the surgeon’s workflow and reducing procedure time. An automatic plasma intensity display at the probe tip ensures continuous process monitoring and enhanced safety.
