A new method of pain relief was introduced by anesthesiologists-reanimatologists in Vinnytsia region
It makes it possible to improve the condition and quality of life of the wounded, in particular defenders with amputations who experience phantom pains. The mechanism of action of this technique consists in blocking the nerves that are responsible for the innervation of certain parts of the body, using local anesthetics. A team of military medics is now sharing these new skills with civilian medical professionals. This cooperation with military specialists proves to be very valuable in the conditions of war, providing the opportunity to provide a variety of assistance to both military personnel and the civilian population.
A historic breakthrough in the treatment of HIV with the help of genetic editing
Nobel's gene editing technology opens up new perspectives in the fight against HIV. Scientists from the University of Amsterdam announced the successful removal of HIV from infected cells using this technology. Although this is only a "proof of concept," the results are encouraging, but more work is needed to demonstrate the effectiveness and safety of this treatment.
Medical achievements of Ukrainian doctors: ultra-complicated operations and bionic prostheses
Cardiac surgeons of the St. Panteleimon Hospital in Lviv, together with the Amosov Institute, performed Ferrazzi's operation, one of the most difficult for the heart. This operation became a significant event for both medical specialists and patients, as it is the first intervention within the framework of the Program for the Prevention of Sudden Cardiac Death in Ukraine.
In Chortkivska Central City Hospital, a three-chamber cardioverter-defibrillator was successfully implanted in a patient with heart rhythm disorders, and in Vinnytsia, doctors first performed cochlear implantation surgery in a patient with significant hearing problems.
The Center for Complex Endoprosthetics, Osseointegration and Bionics has developed a modern bionic prosthesis for soldiers, which allows you to reproduce movements thanks to special sensors. The prosthesis consists of 16 sensors that transmit signals to the prosthesis through a special program. This prosthesis facilitates household and work tasks. Operations are performed on muscle and nerve tissues, which allows the patient to freely control not only the shoulder joint and elbow, but also the hand and fingers.
Ukrainian doctors continue to develop and implement advanced technologies, helping patients with various medical needs. And we continue to work on the qualitative expansion of the catalog of medical equipment of the Loran company.
These are just some of the news that marked March. Together, we can learn and share valuable knowledge to improve medical practice. Stay with us - there are many more interesting things ahead!
