Ukrainian military surgeons performed several unique operations
The surgeries involved the reattachment of lost limbs to wounded AFU fighters. These were four replantations (three lower and one upper limbs) by sewing together nerves, vessels, tendons, muscle tissue, and bones and restoring blood circulation. Such surgery is performed within a few hours after the loss of a limb.
Ear transplantation from human cells, made using a 3D printer
A medical team from the United States has conducted a pioneering procedure in the early stages of clinical trials. They managed to reconstruct the human ear, using the patient's own tissues to create a three-dimensional bio-implant.
The implant is called AuriNovo and was developed by 3DBio Therapeutics. There is a possibility that this method could be used to treat people with single congenital defects, namely microtia.
International medical associations have suspended the membership of some russian and belarusian members
Ukrainians appealed to 130 international associations with an appeal to exclude medics from the aggressor states. Of these, 11 organizations responded and listened to the Ukrainians' requests.
