Loran, a medical equipment company, has implemented a project involving the installation of two laser systems – the Velas dual-wavelength diode laser by Gigaa Laser and the Litho EVO 35 W holmium laser by the Italian manufacturer Quanta System – in a hospital of the Kyiv region. This combination of equipment expands the clinical capabilities of the department and enables a wide range of urological and surgical procedures within a single medical facility.
In modern urological practice, laser technologies are regarded not merely as tools, but as an integrated treatment approach. Scientific publications and clinical guidelines of the European Association of Urology emphasize the importance of laser methods in reducing procedural trauma, shortening hospital stays, and ensuring predictable postoperative recovery.
The Quanta System holmium laser is used as a versatile solution for lithotripsy and soft tissue procedures. In daily clinical practice, this translates into controlled interaction with calculi of varying density and stable performance in confined operative fields. For physicians, this means predictable outcomes and the ability to adapt the surgical strategy to a specific clinical case without changing equipment.
The Gigaa Laser diode system with two wavelengths complements departmental capabilities in areas where precise coagulation, minimal depth of thermal impact, and reliable visual control are essential. The wavelength combination allows flexible selection of techniques depending on tissue type and clinical objectives, which is particularly valuable in routine surgical practice.
Practical experience with multi-wavelength diode and holmium lasers demonstrates that physicians gain greater flexibility in procedure planning, while patients benefit from less invasive treatment methods with predictable rehabilitation outcomes. This rationale formed the basis for selecting the equipment for the hospital in the Kyiv region.
The project is part of Loran Group’s systematic efforts to implement laser technologies in medical institutions across Ukraine. The company supports every stage – from clinical needs assessment to installation and commissioning – taking into account departmental specialization and real working conditions of medical staff.
